Sandwich panels: classification and composition

Traditionally, a sandwich panel consist of three layers. This is an internal and external cladding, between them is a layer of insulation, which performs the main protective functions of the material. It is according to the composition of the heat -insulating layer that the following separation of the panels occurs. In this regard, a sandwich panel can be distinguished, which uses mineral wool insulation – the most popular type of panel, as well as a sandwich panel based on a polystyrene and polyurethane panel.

There are also panels with fiberglass insulation and combined heat insulator. In addition to the considered classifications, the sandwich panel can be divided by type of facing material by type of polymer coating.
