Wooden plinth: Technical features and shortcomings
Wooden or made of wood or veneer. Made mainly from spruce and pine. More valuable and accordingly looks richer from red wood. There is also a skirting board made of cherries of oak or aspen, the latter is used mainly in baths or places with high humidity.
Now wooden skirting boards are installed mainly where the flooring is made of parquet or where a strict floorboard is used as a floor covering.
This skirting boards are attached with screws (which is not very aesthetically aesthetically pleasing), on liquid nails, or nails without hats.
The disadvantage of this type of plinth is: the fact that it is non -removable and it usually does not have a channel cable. To lay the cable, you need to stroke the wall or use some other methods.
The disadvantage is the high price. Skirting board from pine or spruce costs about 120 – 350 rubles per linear meter, and from valuable wood from 250 to 500 rubles. Another wooden skirting board (except for special breeds – aspen, larch) is subject to decay in rooms with high humidity.
