The net profit of the German automobile manufacturer BMW for 2024 amounted to €7.68 billion. This is a drop of 37% compared to the 2023 figure.
Revenue for the reporting period decreased by 8.4% and amounted to €142 billion.
BMW’s key indicators have been falling for the second year in a row, and the 2024 results, as the company points out, were affected by a decrease in car sales in the Chinese market, as well as problems with defective brake systems supplied by Continental. Elimination of the defect required the suspension of car sales. About 2.45 million BMW vehicles were sold during the year, which is less than the previous year, when the company sold 2.55 million vehicles.
BMW car sales fell by 2.3% over the year, to 2.2 million. Rolls-Royce sales decreased by 5.3%, to 5.7 thousand cars. MINI sales fell the most, by 17.1% to 244.9 thousand vehicles. The share of electric vehicles in the manufacturer’s sales increased by 13.5%.
