Methods and stages of aligning the wooden floor

Over the years, the floor is subjected to deformation, and various kinds of irregularities arise. When a height of more than 3 millimeters, the need for aligning the wooden floor arises. To do this, several ways are used. The leveling of the floor can be carried out through the use of chipboard or the OSB, it is also possible to use the screed. It depends on the degree of deformation of the wooden floor, as well as on the flooring, which will be used in the future. The use of chipboard or OSB is possible if the floor has sufficient strength, does not creak, and it is planned to use linoleum, parquet or laminate as a floor covering. Installation of chipboard or OSB plates is carried out by means of self -tapping screws. In this case, they must be immersed in a stove by 2-3 millimeters. A waterproofing layer in the form of a polyethylene film is laid on top of the wooden floor.

The use of a concrete screed as an alignment of a wooden floor is used when it is planned to lay ceramic tiles on the floor or when the floor is strengthened. In this case, the usual cement-sand mixture or self-leveling mixture is used. Before laying the screed, it is necessary to lay the waterproofing layer. Screed is carried out on the installed beacons, which are installed in parallel to the walls. The distance between the beacons is 1.5-2 meters. To reduce the mass of screed, it is best to use porcelain tiles. The flooring is laid on top of the screed.
