Attic staircases: selection of structures and materials
All attic stairs can be divided into two main types: folding and sliding. Folding stairs usually consist of several sections, and sliding attic stairs add up like an accordion. At the same time, sliding stairs require a smaller opening in the ceiling than folding.
As for the material from which the stairs are made, there are some differences here. Folding stairs are made mainly from wood. For this, both an ordinary pine and wood of valuable wood are perfect. Much less often you can find folding staircases made of aluminum, and very rarely they are made of steel.
